Dodgers on to World Series
Thursday, October 17th, 2019
The Los Angeles Dodgers are riding high after knocking off the San Francisco Giants in the League Championship Series.

"We're feeling confident now and that's half the battle," said Cody Bellinger, who was named series MVP. "You play confidently, you play well and it shows up with results like this."

Los Angeles won the final game by a 4-2 count at Dodger Stadium and the series 4-2.

For the series, Bellinger hit .320 with a .370 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Los Angeles Dodgers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the New York Yankees - Minnesota Twins series. Minnesota leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.

Out with the Old, in with the New: Jim Smith Now GM of San Francisco
Thursday, October 10th, 2019
Can San Francisco win with Jim Smith at the helm?

Several respected baseball commentators urged team ownership to show patience with the new man.

"New general managers are always in a rough spot," wrote one. "The organization needs to take a thoughtful, weighted approach. It has some great talent, but it also has holes. Smith shouldn't reinvent the wheel or feel pressured to make any knee-jerk decisions this early on. He should take his time and base his assessment of the club on logic."

Sage advice, if San Francisco will listen to it.
